Building Material Zone
The Dubai Building Material Zone is a specialized platform which joins the building contractors and producers of building materials. This economic zone is strategically located close to the Musaffah highway, it takes 15-minute drive to the nearest Abu Dhabi International airport, and15 minutes to drive to the downtown of megalopolis.
The project was implemented at the initiative of the Government of the Dubai Emirate, in order to stimulate and to develop the production of building materials. The specialized broker's board,where the interests of producers, suppliers and importers of building materials intersect, is operating within the project.
The infrastructure of the BMZ economic zone in UAE includes the construction of residential premises, commercial areas and the provision of over 100 thousand square meters for trading companies involved in the selling of building materials. Moreover, there are also on-site own selling spaces and the sector, which was intended for the provision of services in the sphere of international transport logistics.

Available specialized industrial sectors
Sector 1
The main purpose of these sectors is the medium and heavy industry, machinery construction and processing of various materials, including building materials and products made of metal, plastic, and glass fiber. The total area of the sector is more than 10 square kilometers. This sector has a number of objective advantages, in particular:
- favorable location close to the roads, air and sea transport hubs;
- the available infrastructure meets the highest international standards of energy efficiency and security. The partners and the clients of the economic zone can use the perfect urban infrastructure. The separate residential premises, equipped with the necessary utilities, are provided for the company staff;
- there are vast storage facilities on the territory of the sector. These premises are intended for storing of the products of light industry;
- the additional clusters, for specialized industries are available on the territory of the specialized area. This applies to the food and textile industry, wood processing and machinery construction, high-tech industries and production of building materials.
Sector 2
This industrial sector is designed for light and medium scale industry, including the processing of wood, production of chemicals, building materials and etc. The total area of the industrial sector is more than 10 square kilometers. The management of this sector is based on the advanced model of cooperation between private business and the state. There are about 100 separate land lots for the various economic activities on the territory of the sector. The infrastructure of the industrial sector includes:
- the road network of more than 27 kilometers;
- the gas pipeline length is 21 km;
- a special system of pumping out the excess rain water, more than 60 kilometers of pipes;
- drainage system of about 20 kilometers.
It is worth noting that the majority of the buildings in the industrial Sector 2 are already nearing completion. Moreover, all the necessary contracts and agreements on the providing the erected buildings with the appropriate utilities and the construction of urban infrastructure, are already signed.
Sector 3
This sector is designed for locating of different clusters and covers an area of over 12 square kilometers. Taking into account the adopted management model of cooperation of state bodies and private investors, the sector aims to meet the investment needs and to provide a maximal support for nascent entrepreneurs. It should be noted that the major part of land lots in this industrial sector is already booked by potential investors, and the offered tools are in great demand among the foreign entrepreneurs.
The industrial city
In fact, the industrial city is a multi-functional space for the organization of production. The emphasis is laid here on small and medium-sized enterprises which are engaged in the processing of a various materials, machinery construction, textile and food industries, production of plastics and chemicals. The territory of the sector exceeds 10 square kilometers, where about the 300 separate land lots, which are intended for industrial construction, are located. There are also finished industrial, residential and office premises for the organization of business.
The structure of the industrial city provides the division in the following sectors:
- repair shops and light industry;
- food preservation and processing of agricultural products;
- Light industry (wood processing, paper production, textile industry and etc.);
- plastic and chemical industry;
- production of building materials;
- development of the clusters and the environmental industry and etc.
Residential areas for staff
The development of the economic zone and attracting of the large investment assets is directly related to the population growth on the territory of the Free Zone in the UAE. The huge demand for jurisdiction among the foreign labor reserves is due to the possibility to provide residents with the necessary production facilities, a decent standard of living and modern social infrastructure.
BMZ Economic Zone: plans for future and prospects of development
The launch of the additional industrial sectors, which are designed to solve the certain tasks in this economic sector, is planned in the nearest future. In particular, the implementation of the following objects is planned:
- Industrial Sector 4: total area of more than 24 square kilometers;
- Industrial Sector 5: total area of over 10 square kilometers, and the main purpose is the domestic automotive industry. The establishment of a specialized platform which would join the suppliers of automotive products and services is planned;
- the specialized sector of building materials: the total area of the sector is more than 30 square kilometers. The purpose of the sector, is the stimulation of the development of the economic sector of building materials and corresponding services.
Thus the BMZ economic area in UAE is an ideal platform which combines the highest international standards in the field of technical quality and ecological purity. This Government project, as an independent cluster, aims to create the brand new standards in the processing and production of building materials in UAE.
